Heinz Bloch Heinz Bloch is a consulting engineer with offices in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with BS and MS degrees and holds professional engineers’ licenses in New Jersey and Texas. Before retiring from Exxon in 1986, after 24 years of service, his career included many years as Exxon Chemical Company’s Regional Machinery Specialist for the United States. In addition to holding machinery-oriented positions in Italy, England, The Netherlands and Japan, his Exxon assignments included troubleshooting and reliability-improvement visits to over a dozen affiliated plants worldwide.
He is the author of 14 full-length textbooks and over 300 papers/technical articles on machinery reliability improvement. He has conducted over 500 technical courses/seminars in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and North and South America. Mr. Bloch is a founding member of Texas A&M University’s Pump Users Symposium and has, since 1990, served as the Equipment Reliability Editor of Hydrocarbon Processing magazine and Chairman of the yearly International Process and Power Plan Reliability Conference.
